Stella and Lucia are 11 months!

Another month has gone by and I feel like time is really flying now!  The girls seem to have grown so much in just the past few weeks!    The babies are very busy and fun.  Here are some of the things that they are doing:

-They are clapping 2 objects together, and are so proud of themselves when they do

-They are saying"baba", "bob", "mama" and "gaga" pretty consistently
-They are crawling around like crazy!  They LOVE to be chased!
-They are sleeping pretty consistently from 7:30 ish to 6 ish every night
-They are still wearing size 3 diapers and are wearing size 9 month clothes.  The 12 month clothing is still too big.

They may not be saying so much, but they both understand so much:

-they wave bye bye

-they bark when they see any animal (oo oo)
-they bury their head in their blanket when you say "night night"
-they put their head on your shoulder when you say "hug"

They do not like loud noises!  They are very sensitive to sounds. :(

We are still trying to get them to eat people foods.  Lulu is doing better, but Stella is still vomiting when she eats real food.   It is also getting to be so hard to feed them, as they are crying once we put them in their high chairs.  They are eating small puffs, pancakes, yogurt, peas (but they spit out), mashed up bananas, mashed up avocados, and applesauce.  We have been trying to get new soft foods in them, but don't want to push too much.

Here are some pics of Stella:

Giana's First Day of Winnetka Covenant Church Preschool

Giana has been very excited about going to her new school, Winnetka Covenant Church preschool.  Her teacher, Miss Linnea, is a former parent of mine, so it is very fun that she is now Giana's teacher.  There are only 6 students in her class, and all girls!  I know that she will have a wonderful year!

Stella and Lulu are 10 months old!

I can't believe that Stella and Lulu are 10 months old.  They are just so cute and so mobile!  They are both crawling like crazy and starting to pull to stand on everything--the couch, their crib, the kitchen chairs, and the garbage can!  They think that they are such big girls too!

While they don't have any real words yet, but they are always babbling.  I've been hearing "bababa, mamama, gagaga".  They are also waving "bye bye" and when I say "night night," they will crawl towards their blankies and bury their faces.  They love mirrors and looking at themselves and each other.  It is very cute!

They also both have a tooth!  Surprisingly, although most babies cut their bottom teeth first, Lulu has cut her top right I tooth and Stella has cut her top left I tooth!  Crazy, right?

The babies are getting better at drinking from sippy cups while they are eating.  They are still eating baby food.  I have tried to give them bananas and blue berries cut in small pieces, but they are still gagging at those foods...so we continue to give them jarred baby food.  We'll keep trying people foods.

Here are some adorable pics of Stella:

I love these little baby girls so much!

Stella and Lulu are 9 months old!

It is hard for me to believe that my baby girls are nine months.  I have been dreading them turning nine months specifically because I have to go back to work this month and am literally sick about it.  My maternity leave has gone way to fast!  I am thankful that I was able to be off of work for 9 months and that Annie will continue to watch Gigi and will also take on the twins, but I have truly LOVED being at home with all of my girls and wish that I could continue to stay at home...

The girls have again made some great gains this month!  Stella weighs 19 pounds, 1 ounce and is 28 inches long.  Lulu weighs 18 pounds, 13 ounces and is 27.5 inches long.  They are both in the 40th percentile for weight and height.  They are gaining so nicely!

Both girls are sitting up on their own now and Stella has perfected moving from all fours to a sitting position.  She is still moving backwards to get what she wants, but has been rocking on all fours and can push herself forward too.  Lulu has perfected her army crawling and is getting faster and faster.  She is starting to rock on all fours, so I am sure she will crawl on all fours soon.  EEK!!!

While the girls have been "screeching" for some time now, they are finally starting to babble.  I've even heard Stella cry out "mamamama" and "babababa".  I've also heard "ha" from both of them, which I really believe is "hi!"  I'm looking forward to some words coming soon.

Their personalities are really starting to shine through and it is so wonderful to be with them every day!  It is not easy to get them to both sit and look at me--here are some funny pics of our photo session:

and I can't get them to lay down on their tummies any more long enough for me to take a pic,  so here is their butt shot

Kenny's Work Picnic

Kenny's annual work picnic was a lot of fun for the girls this year.  Since we arrived late, we had to park in a far away lot at Independence Grove, but then got to ride in a limo to get to the park location--very fun for Talia and Giana!  There were jumpy's, lots of food and ice cream, and fun games for the kids, too.  Talia was a bit disappointed as there were no paddle boats this year (and Kenny was relieved--it's hard work for him!)

I had these shirts with their names on them made on ETSY and thought this was the perfect time to wear them!  So cute!

Stella's awake and Lulu's asleep--story of my life! :)

Sweet sisters--see, they do love each other!
